The Mercedes-AMG GT3 is powered by a 6.2-litre naturally aspirated V8 — an increasingly rare configuration in a class moving towards turbocharged alternatives. The M159 racing unit produces around 550 bhp with a flat, torque-rich power delivery that suits high-speed circuits where sustained power matters most.

AMG Customer Racing has refined the car through several updates since its initial homologation. Teams with deep technical knowledge of the platform consistently extract more from it than the car's setup sensitivity might initially suggest is available.

The AMG GT3's record runs through some of the most successful GT3 teams in history. Through Black Falcon and later GetSpeed and MANN-FILTER, Mercedes-AMG entries were fixtures at the sharp end of GTWCE Endurance Cup rounds and the Spa 24 Hours.

At the Nürburgring 24 Hours, the AMG GT3 has been particularly effective — its durability over long stints and performance across a wide range of weather conditions has produced multiple strong results at the Nordschleife.

The AMG GT3 competes across GTWCE Sprint and Endurance, IMSA GTD and GTD Pro, the IGTC, and national championships in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. AMG Customer Racing supports teams in each of these regions through regional technical centres and factory event support.

Mercedes-AMG is one of the few manufacturers with competitive entries across every continent where GT3 racing takes place.

AMG Customer Racing provides factory engineers at IGTC events and selected GTWCE rounds, a technical support programme for registered customer teams, and access to AMG's factory data from its extensive development programme. AMG has a reputation for being genuinely responsive to customer feedback.
