Corvette
Z06 GT3.R
The Z06 GT3.R is not just a new car. It is General Motors betting on a new generation of American GT3 racing — and it has started winning.
// 01 — THE CAR
The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R is powered by the LT6 5.5-litre flat-plane V8 — a radical departure from Corvette's traditional pushrod V8 tradition. The flat-plane configuration produces a higher-revving, more motorsport-tuned character. In GT3 configuration, the LT6 produces around 550 bhp.
The Z06 GT3.R was developed by Pratt Miller Motorsports — Corvette's long-term factory racing partner — in conjunction with GM's factory engineers. It is a genuine customer racing product for the GT3 class from a manufacturer that previously competed only in class-specific homologations.
// 02 — THE RECORD
The Z06 GT3.R made its competitive debut in 2024. In IMSA's GTD and GTD Pro classes, Corvette Racing by Pratt Miller established the car as a genuine contender quickly — wins and podiums demonstrating the development work that went into the programme before its public launch.
In Europe, Corvette entered the GTWCE programme through select customer teams, bringing American GT3 racing's most iconic brand to European grids for the first time.
// 03 — WHERE THEY RACE
The Z06 GT3.R competes in IMSA GTD and GTD Pro — its primary home — and in GTWCE Endurance through European customer teams. The programme is structured to grow as the car's development matures and its results attract new partners.
North America remains the centre of the Corvette GT3 programme. The brand's commercial resonance in the North American market makes the programme meaningful beyond pure racing results.
// 04 — THE PROGRAMME
Pratt Miller Motorsports manages the factory Corvette GT3 effort, providing engineering support, car development, and factory access to customer teams. GM's commitment goes beyond car supply — the factory has invested in the infrastructure required to compete at the front of IMSA's most competitive classes.
The Z06 GT3.R programme is young, and its record will grow. What is already clear is that GM has built a competitive platform and committed the resources needed to support it. For customer teams looking for a manufacturer with genuine factory ambition, Corvette now belongs in that conversation.
