Audi
R8 LMS GT3 EVO II
Audi Sport Customer Racing built the R8 LMS into one of the most successful GT3 programmes of the modern era. The legacy is still earning wins.
// 01 — THE CAR
The Audi R8 LMS GT3 EVO II is powered by a 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10 — the same fundamental engine that powers the road-going R8 — producing around 585 bhp. The V10's natural aspiration gives the EVO II a distinctive power delivery: linear, responsive, and immediately communicative at the limit.
The platform is mature — Audi has been developing GT3 cars based on the R8 architecture since 2009. The depth of that history shows in how well the car responds to fine-tuning. Teams with long-term Audi relationships consistently extract the most from it.
// 02 — THE RECORD
Audi's GT3 record is one of the deepest in the class — GTWCE titles, ADAC GT Masters championships, multiple Nürburgring 24 Hours overall victories, and race wins across every significant championship worldwide.
Teams including Phoenix Racing, Land Motorsport, and WRT built their reputations on the back of the R8 LMS. Audi Sport Customer Racing's formula — a competitive car, genuine factory support, and a large enough customer fleet to ensure expertise is available everywhere — proved highly effective for over a decade.
// 03 — WHERE THEY RACE
The R8 LMS GT3 EVO II competes across GTWCE, the ADAC GT Masters, the IGTC, and national championships in Europe, Asia, and North America. The European programme is the strongest, with multiple competitive entries at each GTWCE and Nürburgring round.
Audi's step back from factory prototype racing means GT3 is now the primary motorsport expression of the brand. That places greater significance on customer racing results.
// 04 — THE PROGRAMME
Audi Sport Customer Racing is one of the most systematically managed customer programmes in GT3. Factory engineers attend major events, a dedicated customer racing department handles technical queries, and car updates are communicated through structured technical bulletins.
A new team entering the Audi programme can benefit immediately from the accumulated knowledge of dozens of teams that have developed the R8 LMS across multiple seasons.
