How Intercontinental GT Challenge Works
New to Intercontinental GT Challenge? Learn how the Sprint and Endurance formats work, how class points are scored, and how to follow the season from round one.
The Intercontinental GT Challenge is SRO's global showcase, linking five of the world's most prestigious GT endurance events across four continents. It is the only GT championship that races in Australasia, Europe, Asia, and North America in a single season.
Six manufacturers — Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini, Mercedes-AMG, BMW, and Audi — are officially registered for the 2026 IGTC. The championship crowns Drivers', Teams', and Manufacturers' champions across five rounds.
Suzuka returns to the IGTC calendar in 2026 for the first time since 2019, restoring the 1000km format alongside the two 24-hour events at Nürburgring and Spa.
The IGTC links five standalone events into a single championship, awarding points at each for Drivers, Teams, and Manufacturers:
Bathurst 12 Hour (Australia): A 12-hour race on Mount Panorama — one of the most scenic and demanding circuits in the world.
Nürburgring 24 Hours (Germany): The biggest GT3 event in the world by field size, typically 150+ cars across all classes.
24 Hours of Spa (Belgium): The blue riband of GT racing in Europe, run by SRO Motorsports.
Suzuka 1000km (Japan): Returning after a six-year absence, bringing the championship back to Asia.
Indianapolis 8 Hours (USA): The Brickyard closes the IGTC season in October.
There is no dedicated IGTC-specific car — all entries simultaneously compete within their regional domestic championships.
